Carers Contact Centre 10th Anniversary Celebrations:
Celebration at Enginuity
Over 100 carers joined the Carers Contact Centre recently at Enginuity in Ironbridge to celebrate their 10th anniversary of caring for carers. At the birthday party invited guests, carers and staff, past and present, had a chance to meet and share memories over a buffet lunch.

Telford & Wrekin Mayor, Councillor Karen Blundell cut the birthday cake and Paul Taylor, Head of Operations, Adult and Community Wellbeing at Telford and Wrekin Council, spoke about the development of the Centre and looked forward to the future.
In those 10 years, Carers Contact has grown from being a phone-line information service to a Centre based in Leegomery Community Centre, offering advice, information and support to carers in the Telford and Wrekin area who are looking after relatives or friends who need help because of age, disability or health.
Steve Holloway, Adult Carers Service Manager said: “We were delighted to share this special occasion with so many family carers. They perform such an important but often unrecognised role in our community”.
After a buffet lunch, carers had the opportunity to visit the Enginuity Museum for free and more than 30 took advantage of this.
A great night out was enjoyed by carers and Carers Contact Centre staff, many thanks to the Ironbridge Lions Club, who funded and organised a Skittles evening. As well as a knockout game of skittles, with some being much better than others (!), a tasty fish and chip supper was provided.
For the more energetic, there was a disco to finish off the night.
